GOP Rep. Thomas Massie introduces a modest proposal regarding the US Department of Education

The U.S. Department of Education has been a thorn in the country’s side for decades. It’s been awful for kids, and awful for their parents.

Democrats want to ensure that it remains that way for years to come.

And GOP Rep. Thomas Massie wants to ensure that it doesn’t:

“The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2022.” Short and sweet.

Nice to have a bill that doesn’t require a whole team of staffers to speed-read for a change.

The bill’s not likely to pass, but we can at least appreciate the gesture.

The Department of Education is a dumpster fire. Maybe it’s time to just put it out.
