Don’t feel bad if you or your children didn’t go to Harvard, because if David Hogg is any indication, you haven’t been missing out on much.
Hogg isn’t known for having thoughtful takes on gun violence, and he most certainly isn’t known for thinking before he tweets.
And that’s why his take on the deadly Boulder shooting goes a little something like this:
It should not be easier to buy an AR-15 than it is to vote.

Wow. He actually got one right for a change! Accidentally, but still!
It’s not tho

Well, it isn't. So…

I have such good news for you, David. It’s not. You did it! Congrats!!! https://t.co/l4cpZ1hE7T

Let’s give David Hogg a big hand.
This is a cool little sound bite for dummies with agendas to latch onto, but it's just not true.
I am required to do an in-person federal background check on any gun I'd like to buy in my state.
To vote, I was required to fill out a couple forms on a website.

Raise your hand if you know someone who received an official ballot in the mail from their state without even requesting it.
Now raise your hand if you know someone who got an AR-15 the same way. https://t.co/0RgEk8BzSo

I'd normally agree with Harvard-educated Dave here, but I can't seem to get the state to send me an AR-15 in the mail. https://t.co/TCL3vbfqnh

I know, right? I still haven't received my AR-15 in the mail, though. And for some reason, they didn't even ask me for an ID for a background check when I voted last November, even though I offered!
— Aldous Huxley's Ghost™ (@AF632) March 24, 2021
You need an ID to legally buy a gun from a licensed seller https://t.co/3hhaoO1H6I
— Ashe Short (@AsheSchow) March 24, 2021
So we should require IDs and background checks for voting? I don’t think that’s Constitutional. https://t.co/pxZkR2Qo2Z

It isn’t, and people do a disservice to the policy they’re trying to change by dishonest framing like this. https://t.co/DkZhcJJwEA
— Tyler Voigt (@tvoigt34) March 24, 2021
But dishonest framing is what made David Hogg famous! It’s what got him into Harvard!

It should not be easier to get into Harvard than it is to make a cogent argument. https://t.co/F223iVdMJz

Well, to be fair, David Hogg also sucks at starting pillow companies.
It's not but it is however probably easier than starting a pillow company https://t.co/52EpVKByCD

Awww.
It should not be easier to exceed the speed of light than it is to read an honest tweet from David Hogg https://t.co/OeNJOEo4S4

And yet, here we are.
