Righteous, woke Democrats like Cory Booker and Mazie Hirono have a big problem with SCOTUS nominee Amy Coney Barrett using the offensive term “sexual preference” in 2020. Obviously ACB’s use of the term is just more evidence that she’s a homophobic bigot.
The thing is, though, that quite a few people beat ACB to the punch. There’s Joe Biden, of course, because there’s always Joe Biden. But he’s far from the only one.
The Washington Free Beacon’s David Rutz went for a stroll down Memory Lane and came across some fun little blasts from the past:
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who Mazie Hirono called "our champion" on Monday, used the term "sexual preference" in 2017. Hirono jumped on Amy Coney Barrett for saying it Tuesday, calling it "offensive and outdated." pic.twitter.com/8bHIQTSVFk https://t.co/JlcRA35g59

A lot of people need to answer for this. Mazie Hirono should hold a hearing or something.
Any interest in condemning, @maziehirono? https://t.co/5l2YapWEvl

This needs to be dealt with.
2020 feminism means shaming a conservative woman for using an innocuous phrase that wasn’t offensive until yesterday https://t.co/5l2YapWEvl

This is what happens when a Party uses vapid culture war symbolism to obscure the reality that they have no real politics. Just watch: https://t.co/HiLOtQMMDI
