Disgraced ex-Rep. Katie Hill isn’t in any position to play a role in Donald Trump’s impeachment — you know, since she’s a disgraced ex-rep. — but that’s not stopping her from self-righteously weighing in anyway:
Oath Senators take before impeachment: “I solemnly swear that in all things appertaining to the trial of the impeachment of ____, now pending, I will do IMPARTIAL justice according to the Constitution & laws; So help me God."

Hill cites an “analysis” by CNN’s Zachary B. Wolf for evidence that we all need to be very concerned about Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham’s ability to take their oath seriously:
At least two Republicans, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, have said they aren’t impartial jurors in this process. McConnell is coordinating with the White House about a trial strategy and Graham has also given input. “I’m not an impartial juror,” McConnell told reporters the day before the House impeachment vote. “This is a political process. There is not anything judicial about it. Impeachment is a political decision.”
It’s awkward, then, that McConnell and every other senator, according to Article 1 of the Constitution, shall “be on oath or affirmation” when they try impeachments.
…
Is there a difference between being “an impartial juror,” which McConnell says he’s not, and doing “impartial justice according to the Constitution,” which he will presumably swear to do?
Yeah, how dare McConnell say outright that he’s not an impartial juror. He should’ve just taken a cue from his Democratic colleagues instead:

Tell it to Elizabeth Warren, Michael Bennett, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, and others who have already said they'll vote to convict without a trial. Hell, Warren said in October, she'd vote to remove Trump.

And Lord knows Adam Schiff, AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, et al. were totally impartial throughout the House’s portion of this circus.
But aside from that, even, the notion of Hill up there on her high horse suggesting that Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham are ethically challenged is pretty hilarious considering what she did to become a disgraced ex-rep. We know there was nothing in the oath she swore that said “I will not have sexual relations with my subordinates,” but we thought that was pretty much understood.
Great, now do the Dems who all but a small few had no courage at all but to be the lemmings they were told to be.
You took oaths too, that you broke, perhaps you are not the best one to lecture anyone on this?— Roger C (@floplag) December 23, 2019
