As Twitchy told you earlier, something possessed Beto O’Rourke to livestream his haircut. Predictably, it was pretty much a train wreck, albeit a hilarious one. You’d have to have a heart of stone not to laugh at Beto’s latest in a long series of attempts to prove that he’s not a total doofus.
Apparently the New York Times’ Sopan Deb has a heart of stone, then:
I see Politics Media Twitter is here to pile and snark on Beto for “live-streaming his haircut,” and not mentioning that he’s interviewing the barber about his experience as an immigrant or as a business owner. Great use of the medium, all!

Calm down, Karen.
"I see politics media twitter is here to make fun of a candidate's dumb publicity stunt" – said the super-serious journalist.

Aren’t we fortunate to have a comic-slash-journalist to comedysplain to the rest of us?
what if it's maybe his fault that the serious nature of livestream is getting lost https://t.co/DvGqOvSdbn
— Alex Griswold (@HashtagGriswold) May 15, 2019
sorry, I missed the seriousness of the interview amid beto talking about trimming his ear hair.
— T. Becket Adams (@BecketAdams) May 15, 2019
I bet, knowing your history, you would’ve taken it very seriously otherwise!
— Sopan Deb (@SopanDeb) May 15, 2019
as seriously as all obvious campaign stunts, yes. probably.
— T. Becket Adams (@BecketAdams) May 15, 2019
See, Sopan, that was funny.
"Ackshully Beto's tooth cleaning livestream brilliantly brought attention to the need for more dentists who accept Medicaid"
— Jason Hart (@jasonahart) May 15, 2019
So was that. See how humor works?
Right. Media’s role is to support and promote all left wing political candidates. Save the snark and piling on for politicians you disagree with.

Sure, that’s a serious interview/research effort and not a cheap political stunt.
Great use of your critical thinking skills, Sopan.

Sopan can run all the interference he wants to. That doesn’t change the fact that Beto O’Rourke invites mockery on a daily basis.
You mean making fun of narcissistic and delusional politicians isn’t the intended use of this app?
Dam, I’ve been misled!— Caleb (@CalebNWhitfield) May 15, 2019
Live-streaming the haircut itself is the same narcissism from which he was supposed to be “re-setting.”
— El Chorro (@El__Chorro) May 15, 2019
If he wanted to interview the barber, he could do it without getting a haircut. By getting his own hair cut, he's making the interview about himself, NOT the barber.
The fact that #Beto doesn't get this after livestreaming himself at the dentist is another symptom of idiocy.
