Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is not backing down from his mission to make Jussie Smollett pay for his crimes — literally:
NEW: Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel tells WGN Radio that police are "finalizing the cost" of the resources used on the Jussie Smollett case and will be sending him a bill.
The mayor noted the $10k bond Smollett forfeited "doesn’t even come close to what the city spent in resources."

And Jussie Smollett’s lawyers are fighting back with the best weapon they’ve got: brazen dishonesty.
More from Jussie Smollet team.
STATEMENT FROM JUSSIE SMOLLETT'S DEFENSE TEAM REGARDING MAYOR EMMANUEL'S STATEMENT
“It is the Mayor and the Police Chief who owe Jussie – owe him an apology – for dragging an innocent man’s character through the mud. Jussie has paid enough.”

Jussie Smollett hasn’t paid nearly enough for what he’s done. If anyone’s getting dragged through the mud, it’s the Osundairo brothers. Smollett used them and threw them to the wolves without a second thought. He’s in no position to be demanding anything from anyone, let alone an apology. But that’s exactly what he’s doing.
Acting this shamelessly strikes me as a very poor strategy. https://t.co/NKNRbBvRxJ

Well, faking a hate crime is also a poor strategic choice so at least he's being consistent

Update:
A reminder from Tiana Lowe about “innocent man” Jussie Smollett:
In 2007, Jussie Smollett was pulled over while driving drunk and lied to the cops to say he was his BROTHER. This is a guy who not only got a DUI but then tried to throw his own brother under the bus. https://t.co/CHNMD7BGsY https://t.co/KbQsxsRPl8

Smollett was garbage long before he faked the hate crime — and he’ll be garbage long after.
