'Do you have a brain'? Newsweek correspondent coughs up extremely 'dumb take' on Trump's Saudi statement

You know, it’s possible to think Donald Trump’s statement on Saudi Arabia and Jamal Khashoggi was weak and cringeworthy without resorting to crap like this.

The Turkish government — yes, that one — called Trump out over his deferential approach to the Saudis:

More from Reuters:

Numan Kurtulmus, the deputy chairman of President Tayyip Erdogan’s AK Party, dismissed Trump’s assessment. “Yesterday’s statement is a comic statement,” he told state broadcaster TRT Haber.

“It is not possible for an intelligence agency such as the CIA, which even knows the color of the fur on the cat walking around the Saudi consulate’s garden … to not know who gave this order,” he said. “This is not credible either for U.S. public opinion or the world public opinion.”

Now, a normal person would be rolling their eyes right about now at the notion of the Turkish government pointing fingers about something like this. Newsweek national security correspondent Jeff Stein is evidently not normal:

Seems like Jeff’s the one with the problem.

Jeff. Jeff would.
