FNC's Martha MacCallum pushes back after Montel Williams tries to shame her; UPDATED

As Twitchy told you earlier, CNN’s Oliver Darcy complained that Fox News’ Martha MacCallum didn’t push back against a guest who suggested that the recent bomb scares could be a false flag:

It's the responsibility of @marthamaccallum to make sure that after her guest spreads an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory on her air, she immediately corrects it for viewers and provides them the facts. Instead she simply replies, "Fascinating." https://t.co/hcSnz62GSc

The irony of Darcy’s beef with MacCallum was not lost on a lot of people, considering that Darcy works at CNN. But aside from the pot-kettle thing, others also pointed out that Darcy mischaracterized MacCallum’s segment:

If you watch the entire segment instead of relying on a clip from a Media Matters researcher you see that the guy didn't "spread" the false flag theory. He raised it as one among several possibilities. https://t.co/mXQktFTtF3

It seems Montel Williams took a page from Oliver Darcy’s book, because he also tried to shame MacCallum:

Really dissapointed in @marthamaccallum. Putting an conspiracy theorist on tv to lie to the intellectually deficient about these bombs is inexcusably bad behavior. @FoxNews used to be something worth being proud of.

For what it’s worth, Martha MacCallum doesn’t seem to be terribly concerned about disappointing Montel Williams. She pushed right back:

Actually, my guest was a detective who nabbed the Unabomber. He cited different avenues investigators will pursue to catch this bomber, starting with the most obvious: a republican who is out to get democrats/ the int'l angle & then the less likely he said, insider angle. https://t.co/Bmn098ZBza

Welp.

Maybe Montel should have watched the whole segment instead of reading what someone else said.

Update:

Well, guys, apparently we’re “getting hysterical”:

Here you go again getting hysterical. I stand by what I said, I watched the entire segment live.

— Montel Williams (@Montel_Williams) October 25, 2018

Does Montel know what “hysterical” means? Because we do, and there’s no hysteria to be found in our post. But you do you, Montel.

You got taken to school and beclowned.

Sit down, predatory loan guy https://t.co/W9efB2f2Wk
