Earlier today, the UK Daily Telegraph’s chief political correspondent Christopher Hope wondered aloud what makes owls more deserving of a Royal Mail stamp than Brexit:
Why do owls get the right to a commemorative stamp but Brexit doesn't? pic.twitter.com/JAWEiyEGI8

J.K. Rowling was only too happy to answer his question:
Stamps are too small to depict the fact that nostalgic jingoism, fear-mongering, racism and flag-waving delusion narrowly won a referendum, thereby dividing the nation down the middle and ensuring longterm consequences for our society and economy, whereas owls are great. https://t.co/n6cj0Tgm7K

That’s cute, J.K. But if anything will divide the UK and has longterm consequences for your society, it’s the government-sanctioned murder of innocents whose lives the state has deemed unworthy.
How's Alfie doing? https://t.co/bTyQHVvh8l

Rowling has plenty to say about Brexit, which has already happened … but nothing about Alfie, whose life still hangs in the balance.
Huh.
Call him Owlfie and see if that makes a difference.

Or maybe we should put this in terms Rowling can more easily understand:

Whatever it takes. Alfie Evans doesn’t have a voice, and the state is taking his parents’ voices away. But Rowling can still speak out.
JK. You have a powerful voice in education. Can you help little Alfie Evans by lending your voice to him?

I may not be a famous author, or have twinning words. But, I know one thing is true. That is love. Can you use your powerful reach and help Alfie Evans get out of that hospital in Liverpool?

Dear @jk_rowling, would you be willing to use your considerable public influence to get behind the family of Alfie Evans and try to save this little fighters life?
