As you’ve probably heard by now, earlier today, McDonald’s landed themselves in hot oil after a tweet went out from their corporate account calling Trump “a disgusting excuse of a President” (and noting his “tiny hands”). They later claimed that the account had been compromised and promised a thorough investigation.
Well, they’ve just released their findings:

Here’s the full statement:
Based on our investigation, we have determined that our Twitter account was hacked by an external source. We took swift action to secure it, and we apologize this tweet was sent through our corporate McDonald’s account.

And go figure: A lot of people are now pissed at McDonald’s for taking the tweet down and apologizing that it went up in the first place.
