There is an endless amount of infuriating news everyday but THIS… I simply cannot understand how the @GOP sleeps at night. #Resist https://t.co/ShY0OMxw37

How many times does a narrative have to be debunked before Rachel Maddow stops pushing it? Evidently, there’s no limit.
Tonight, the MSNBC host is once again “informing” her followers that Republican lawmakers want to essentially give guns to the mentally ill, or as she apparently sees them, the criminally insane:
They decided not to have the cameras there today when Trump signed the bill to make it easier for seriously mentally ill people to buy guns.
— Rachel Maddow MSNBC (@maddow) February 28, 2017
And once again, people are swallowing it hook, line, and sinker:
@wingknut9 Not exactly anything to be proud of.

.@maddow My stomach dropped… perhaps the gun stores will vet? Sorry lost my head… a sale is a sale in their book. Whoa

America disgusts me. Won't be going there again.

A mentally ill person with an AR-15 is the cornerstone of any well regulated militia. Just what the founders had in mind.

WTF is wrong with this administration? The inmates are running the asylum
— MetsRelatedAngina (@FarRockLori) March 1, 2017
Why is this OK? Let's give more mentally disabled people guns!

Don't deny the seriously mentally ill of their rights to walk into an elementary school and express themselves like any other Am

This will cost lives, not that @realDonaldTrump cares, as long as it benefits his handlers the @NRA .

They should have to be in a closed room with the Newtown parents and not let out until each parents speaks to each 1 individually
— K Pendered (@kpendered) February 28, 2017
Trump didn't want anyone to see who was in the room observing this despicable EO. NRA lobbyist perhaps?
— Deborah (@nudlesoop) February 28, 2017
probably cause the room was already full of mentally ill

That’s lovely, isn’t it?
@mtnbvan the replies to this post compel me to not delete my twitter account just yet. #intelligentlife
— Chris Szabo (@silver_charm) February 28, 2017
Well, maybe you should rethink that, Chris. Because most of the replies to Maddow’s post are from people who didn’t bother to seek out the truth.

Yep. Not to mention the American Association of People with Disabilities and the National Council on Disability.
The rule that’s been reversed by this bill was severely flawed from the get-go, as National Review’s Charles C.W. Cooke reminded Maddow when she was flipping out two weeks ago:
You’re not kidding, Rachel, you’re lying. https://t.co/06O2eopnTg https://t.co/LqLsdpqbkL
— Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) February 14, 2017
Once again, we advise Maddow to stop hyperventilating long enough to read Cooke’s piece, get informed, and call off the dogs. But who are we kidding? That pot of ignorance isn’t gonna stir itself!
