Earlier today, Russian opposition leader and vocal Putin critic Boris Nemtsov was shot and killed in Moscow. Fellow Putin opponent and human rights advocate Garry Kasparov is remembering his colleague — and putting Nemtsov’s death in cold perspective:

Boris's quality no longer fit Putin's Russia. He always believed Russia could change from inside without violence; after 2012 I disagreed.
