Illegal immigrant activist Jose Antonio Vargas has reportedly been detained at the McAllen Border Patrol station in Texas after attempting to go through airport security without a U.S. government-issued ID (the Filipino passport and pocket U.S. Constitution he was carrying didn’t do the trick).
Despite the fact that Vargas flagrantly violated the law, supporters are mounting a campaign to keep him from being deported:
