You love it? Oh, that’s good. Because that’s what “Veronica Mars” and “Frozen” star Kristen Bell did today.
Bell linked to a Salon article about the RNC’s new ad campaign featuring a Republican millennial. Naturally, she managed to tie that into an argument for higher tax rates for the wealthy:
Sorry RNC -rich people SHOULD pay higher taxes because they can afford it. End. Of. Story. xo a rich person http://t.co/fOAaS7X0l4
— Kristen Bell (@KristenBell) March 19, 2014
Isn’t that special?
@IMKristenBell But overtaxing, just because politicians can't work within a budget, is wrong regardless of someone's wealth. #PoorPerson

@IMKristenBell They do pay at a higher tax rate, and the capital gains tax is double taxation, 1st as ord inc & again as inv inc.

Yep.
Here’s a good question:
@IMKristenBell based on what? In a capitalist society such as our own…where is the incentive for gains if the price is higher taxes?
— Mister Sideshow (@mccauley000) March 19, 2014
Bell’s response:
@mistersideshow ok you're right, lets cut all the rich people a break until we kill the middle class once and for all. (this is sarcasm).
— Kristen Bell (@KristenBell) March 19, 2014
Yeah, she totally gets it.

Quiet, Leigh. You’re not an expert like Kristen:
@_LeifDanielle i wish that were true but its just not. trust me I'm in this tax bracket and i see it up close.
— Kristen Bell (@KristenBell) March 19, 2014
@_LeifDanielle we've been sold a bill of goods to save them $ when lower/middle class can't find jobs OR pay their bills.
— Kristen Bell (@KristenBell) March 19, 2014
exactly. "@KingfishFilmCo $100 to a blue collar person can affect their month. $10,000 to a millionaire wouldn't even be noticed."
— Kristen Bell (@KristenBell) March 19, 2014
Why should it be up to the government to decide how much money someone should be allowed to have?

@RocketBoots21 A reminder:U dont know anything abt me. i dont feel guilt. i care abt ppl who have trouble paying rent-b/c Im not an asshole.
— Kristen Bell (@KristenBell) March 19, 2014
Fair enough. We don’t know you, either. But if you care so much and think government is the answer, what’s stopping you from giving the IRS more of your money?

@IMKristenBell you CAN pay more taxes if you like. There's a place on the tax form to give more if you choose. Sounds like you're offering.

@IMKristenBell middle class here…I believe if I ever am fortunate to be deemed "rich", I would like to decide who I donate my $ 2. Not gov
