MSNBC head apologizes for 'outrageous' bigoted tweet, but will anything change? [video]

As Twitchy reported, Reince Priebus banned RNC staffers from appearing on MSNBC until network president Phil Griffin publicly apologized for MSNBC’s race-baiting tweet. This afternoon, Griffin issued a statement. But is it really an apology?

Here’s the text of the apology, via Politico:

The tweet last night was outrageous and unacceptable. We immediately acknowledged that it was offensive and wrong, apologized, and deleted it. We have dismissed the person responsible for the tweet. I personally apologize to Mr. Priebus and to everyone offended. At MSNBC we believe in passionate, strong debate about the issues and we invite voices from all sides to participate. That will never change.

Sigh. While it’s nice to see him acknowledging that the tweet was awful, once again, an MSNBC bigwig is asserting that “this isn’t who we are,” that all points of view are given respect. We all know that’s B.S. For years, MSNBC has cultivated an environment of hate. And, barring a miracle, that will never change.

Priebus has reportedly accepted Griffin’s apology:

But that apology isn’t worth squat if viciousness and bigotry remain the status quo at MSNBC.

Exactly. Meanwhile, Griffin might want to take pre-emptive measures before his network’s next colossal blunder:

“The Half-Assed Apology Channel” might be better.
