Classy: Sen. Menendez reportedly blocking resolution honoring Thatcher; Update: Resolution passes

Will the Senate pass a resolution to honor the late Margaret Thatcher? Not if Sen. Bob Menendez has anything to say about it.

As the Daily Caller reported yesterday — and National Review’s Ramesh Ponnuru has evidently confirmed — Menendez is responsible for holding up a proposed Senate resolution to “honor the life, legacy, and example of British Prime Minister Baroness Margaret Thatcher.”

Paying tribute to a champion of freedom is apparently just not that important to the priorities-challenged senator.
