As Twitchy reported, rather than mourning the lives brutally snuffed out in the Newtown massacre, a group of sickos targeted the NRA with verbal abuse and death threats. One of those sickos, John Cobarruvias, called for NRA members to be shot:
And labeled the NRA a terrorist organization:

Over the past several days, he’s continued to rail against gun rights advocates:

“Terror baby”? That’s a pretty jackassy thing to say. But Cobarruvias isn’t just any ordinary jackass. He also happens to be a Democratic Party precinct chair in Houston, Texas, and sits on the Texas State Democratic Party’s Executive Committee (it seems was also suspended by NASA in 2008 for violating the Hatch Act). Evidently, his prominent political position widened the scope of the spotlight that we shined on his filth just a little too much for his liking. He has deleted his tweet advocating shooting NRA members and apologized for getting “emotional.” But is he truly sorry for saying what he said, or just sorry he got caught?
He wrote this yesterday on his blog:
One thing is for sure, while we are working up the courage to forget this horrible stain on the soul of this country, the NRA and their simple minded minions will be preparing for battle to protect the profits of the gun industry and every right wing, gun nut, wacko’s right to have every imaginable gun firmly planted in their hands regardless of their state of mind.

Members of Congress, shivering with fear at the sight of the NRA, will repeat the simple minded talking points of “Guns don’t kill children”, “We need to enforce the laws we have on the books”, “If only we had more guns!” just like they have done every time we had a massacre. And in the end, with the support of the American people, they will do nothing.
His Twitter apology came shortly thereafter. But what he wrote in his post sure doesn’t sound like the musings of a man who feels guilty for threatening the NRA. Other Twitterers aren’t buying his apology:
@BayAreaHouston Appology not accepted you threatened my life.

@BayAreaHouston You said it and in my opinion meant it. You should be held to it and lose all positions you hold.

Too late John. Out of the heart the mouth speaks, and you spoke of murdering people who have committed no crime.— Jacob Sutherland (@jacobsutherland) December 18, 2012
