Leave it to the likes of Michael Moore to reveal the truth about Republicans: that every last one of them would like nothing better than to have complete control over women. Moore is reveling in the Todd Akin debacle like a pig in filth, wielding Akin’s callous and ignorant “legitimate rape” comments like a cudgel to smear the entire GOP as the party of misogynistic rape apologists.
Naturally, numerous lefties chimed in with high fives and sycophancy:
@MMFlint People have already started trying to paint Akin as just some dumb guy. Like there's no correlation, connection or GOP trend. Ugh.

@MMFlint Very succinctly stated, Mr. Moore. Ironically, it's coming from the party that claims to want less government.

@MMFlint Most people with a pulse know what the GOP is all about. But it sure is fun watching them shoot holes in their feet!
— Jeff O'Meara (@jomeara555) August 20, 2012
Yes @MMFlint he merely unveiled the GOP's misogynist paradigm, revealing its ideological core.. "Women shall not control their own bodies"
— Nick (@nicholasclarke3) August 20, 2012
@MMFlint I'm glad someone with influence is pointing this out, Romney/Ryan also feel the need to prohibit women's freedom and ruin lives
— Ben Reilly (@BenReilly01) August 20, 2012
“Someone with influence”? The only reason Moore has any influence is that the Left continues to bestow credibility upon him in spite of his well-known penchant for embellishment, lying, and fear-mongering. Dude, if you’re truly influenced by a guy like Michael Moore, you need to find some new role models immediately.

Not content to sit idly by and let Moore use Akin to brand all of them as he-man woman-haters, conservatives fought back:
@MMFlint You're an idiot, just like most of the people who think you really care about them.
— Wit'sEnd (@Nayrue) August 20, 2012
@MMFlint. You are a flat out liar. That is a completely dishonest statement and you should be ashamed of yourself for fear mongering. Sick
— Cancel China (@FMuzzys) August 20, 2012
Kinda like Dems and Robert "KKK" Byrd? RT @MMFlint: Don't let the Repubs paint Akin as a lone nut. HE is THEM. They all believe this. #tcot
— The Free Pioneer (@free_pioneer) August 20, 2012
@MMFlint fine, you can understand, how someone’s words can be easily misconstrued then. Still ALL republicans don’t believe in it, I’m sorry
— Matthew (@Mattman34) August 20, 2012
You @MMFlint are responsible for countless rapes. Your anti-gun propaganda films help take away a womans ability to defend herself.
— David Blanton (@EmcayUltrasonic) August 20, 2012
@MMFlint And you want to have control how much money everyone can make and whether or not they can have a gun… #letGaryJohnsonDebate

Wonder if @MMFlint is going to criticise @georgegalloway for his boneheaded rape comments as well while he's on the subject
— Michael (@m_salmon) August 20, 2012
Oh, you mean these comments? Nah. Don’t hold your breath. George Galloway is a lefty, after all, and is therefore immune from criticism in Moore’s eyes.
A few liberals saw Moore’s ludicrous assertion for exactly what it was and rightly called him out:
Kind of an unfair generalization, no? “@MMFlint: Don't let the Repubs paint Akin as a lone nut. HE is THEM. They all believe this:…"
— Dirk ??????Soeterik (@DirkSoeterik) August 20, 2012
a scary # may, but "ALL" is too radical “@MMFlint: Don't let the Repubs paint Akin as a lone nut. HE is THEM. They all believe this”
— emily patterson (@tweetsyall) August 20, 2012
@MMFlint Really? "ALL" republicans believe that? I'm not even a Repub. But that's irresponsible even for you? #stoptheinsanity
— ASG (@ASGriff) August 20, 2012
Bam.
***
Eventually, Moore was forced to make a concession:
"@redisforever: @MMFlint No, no. That's generalizing. They're not ALL horrible people, just most of them." You're right. I know 2 nice R's.
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) August 20, 2012
Gee, how magnanimous of him.
