A woman in LIncoln Park, Mich., was going door-to-door selling pies for $14 apiece. Except, well, nobody who bought a pie ever actually got one.
Fred Rodriguez said he fell for the scam.
“My son ordered a chocolate cream pie, I think it was, and there was a carrot pie that I ordered,” said Rodriguez. “She pounded on the door really hard. She really wanted to make a sale. She wants the money.”
Rodriguez said the woman claimed to be a mother and had a young boy with her.
Rodriguez said the incident has left him skeptical.
“I don’t think it’s right, and if people come to my door now I’m not going to buy nothing no more because I won’t know if it’s good or not,” Rodriguez said.
The woman is described as being in her late 20s to 30s, with blonde hair and a medium build. She was carrying a black folder that contained information about pies.
And that’s why you always ask to see the pie before making any sort of financial transaction. Some of us have to learn that lesson the hard way.
