Fed-up prof and lecturer goes off about male colleague who callously paid her a really nice compliment

It’s 2022, people. We should be well past the point where the achievements of intelligent and accomplished women are minimized and written off by their backward, knuckle-dragging male coworkers.

And yet, here we are. Or, rather, here’s where Dr. Rachel Zoffness, professor at UCSF School of medicine and lecturer at Stanford University, is:

Don’t affectionately refer to a group of women as “girls.” They are women, sir. Of course, they happen to be women behaving like little girls might behave, with the tantrums and everything. Or at least that seems to be the case for Dr. Zoffness.

Sounds like that’s Rachel in a nutshell.

Seriously, the male physician colleague should make a point of retracting his compliment. We would if we were him.

It definitely makes her less respectable. Which is in part why we don’t feel like we need to be very accommodating of her requests.

OK, see, that would’ve been great.

OK, now that would’ve been even better.

Shall we keep going, Rachel? Or would you maybe like to calm down? Or at least try smiling more?

See what we did there?
