Über-liberal actress Debra Messing deserves mad props for unequivocally defending Israel's right to defend itself from 'terrorist organization' Hamas

Longtime Twitchy readers know that we’ve called out liberal actress Debra Messing for all the stupid and ridiculous things she’s said over the years.

Longtime Twitchy readers also know that we believe in giving credit where credit is due. And Debra Messing deserves a lot of credit for this:

2)The jews have lived in Israel for 4000 years. They are indigenous peoples. They were enslaved, then faced genocide. There are 22 Muslim countries, there is 1 Jewish state. It is the only place Jews are safe. Hamas is the cause of the violence. Israel must defend itself.

The fighting is devastating. The generational pain and trauma is profound on both sides. As long as Hamas's mission is to kill all jews, peace is impossible. I pray for the defeat of Hamas, the end to violence & the creation of a 2 state solution, that brings peace to Israel.

And I pray that people will *stop* posting videos and posts that don't acknowledge that Hamas is a terrorist organization. It is hurtful, and puts jews in danger all over the world.

The pro-Israel position is not a popular one on the Left. It certainly isn’t a popular one on the Hollywood Left.

It takes chutzpah for Messing to speak up for Israel and against Hamas, and she has our respect.

Thank you Debra Messing for these powerful words. Too many other Jewish celebrities I guess are too timid to share what they believe…or at worst try to score a few points with "the woke brigade," who are often horribly misinformed on the very complex issue of Israel/Palestine.
