Neil deGrasse Tyson is the AOC of astrophysicists.
He’s celebrated as some kind of great genius in his field, and yet he has an uncanny ability to embarrass himself in very public spaces.
And, like AOC, he’s actually a pretty rotten person when you get to know him:
Would indeed be ironic if Donald Trump lost the presidential election by a margin of votes equal to the number of his supporters who died from COVID-19, for having refused to wear masks in public.

Try and control your enthusiasm, Neil. We know the prospects of Donald Trump losing and his supporters dying from COVID19 are too tantalizing to not get excited about, but try.

Maybe because it’s demented.
Neil, seriously? The stupidest statement ever from you. Not only is it insensitive to the families that have lost someone to this pandemic but irresponsible of you as an educator. https://t.co/buMUTYXUdx

Neil seems to be under the impression that the popular vote determines the election winner and also Trump supporters deserve to die. Parents, don’t let your kids learn from educators like Neil deGrasse Tyson.
