Big news from the White House today:
Pool reporters here at the @WhiteHouse were just summoned to the Oval Office.
— Steve Herman (@W7VOA) September 11, 2019
Wow. This sounds important. What’s going on?
We have a problem and "it's called vaping," @POTUS, with @FLOTUS at his side, tells reporters in the Oval Office.
— Steve Herman (@W7VOA) September 11, 2019
Uh-oh … is this going where we think it’s going?
Yes. Yes it is:
Flavored e-cigarettes will be ordered off the market by the @US_FDA, according to the @WhiteHouse.

.@realDonaldTrump announces in the Oval just now that the Admin wants to ban all non-tobacco flavored e-cigarette vapes from the market. The move is aimed at dissuading young people from taking up vaping.

Yeah, quitting smoking is dangerous. We can’t allow people to risk their lives like that!
Honestly I know a lot of people who have been able to quit smoking because of vaping. I’d rather them vape than smoke!

I quit smoking a year ago. Vaping was the thing that helped me kick the habit. https://t.co/N5U8t8U9mo

Well, guess you’re outta luck now.

Because the government will always find more ways to try to ru(i)n your life.
This is so dumb. https://t.co/poHJyrZOzv

Another "solution" that has nothing to do with the problem. #ecigs
— Snitty Lizzy (@StarChamberMaid) September 11, 2019
This is entirely unjustified. A gross misuse of government authority. An illogical and irrational attack on a nicotine replacement therapy based on incomplete evidence, conjecture, and panic.

Vape lung has killed 6 people and we're taking federal action.
Most city and county transportation departments would need far more deaths before putting up a stop light.

This is unnecessary, and it is terrible politics. https://t.co/5M5kkoCuf8

One upside of banning flavored e-cigs is that we’ll finally turn around declining teen smoking rates.

Make Smoking Great Again!
Flavored e-cigarette liquids set to shift from the existing regulated framework to the far more safety-conscious black market. https://t.co/oSPKWk5dTi
— Rob Pyers (@rpyers) September 11, 2019
The recent deaths from vaping have almost all—if not all—come from people buying products off the street. This will only increase those black-market sales. https://t.co/cmhM4FIP6h

Yeah, this is gonna work out juuuuust fine.
