As Twitchy told you, noted scientician Alyssa Milano to stop referring to fetal heartbeats as “heartbeats” because that really effs with the narrative:
Dear Press, stop calling them “heartbeat” bills and call them “fetal pole cardiac activity” bills https://t.co/PVDTr6pLd0

Well, she might also want to have a word with her pals at Planned Parenthood:
Note to Planned Parenthood: @Alyssa_Milano says you need to update your website that says, "What happens during week 5 – 6?… A very basic beating heart and circulatory system develop."https://t.co/KTPZii5b2Phttps://t.co/5YdmnTPCjO pic.twitter.com/wEsAT5DjHW

I wrote this in 2015, but it seems pertinent with the new abortion laws being passed:
Planned Parenthood Admits: Abortion Stops a Beating Hearthttps://t.co/FliDtz5bbA— Jeryl Bier (@JerylBier) May 15, 2019
When even Planned Parenthood can’t deny that a heartbeat is a heartbeat, it might be time to pack it in, Alyssa.
This is medically ignorant.
Now, we can argue the significance of this finding, but fetal heartbeat and fetal pole cardiac activity are synonymous. https://t.co/wxUJAp0XQg

Fetal cardiac activity starts at about 6 weeks, and can be picked up at that time by ultrasound. Doppler ultrasound picks up the activity and heart rate.

Lets note that at FOUR weeks, there are four distinct chambers of the heart.
By six weeks, this is developed about 80%, and by 8 weeks, fully developed.
Anatomically, there is little significant difference between an adult heart and this one. pic.twitter.com/mjWxSU7Fip

That said, there are legitimate reasons to be against heartbeat bills.
But medical or anatomical reasons are not one of them.
