Bill Kristol’s been clinging to that last thread of credibility for a while now, but that thread appears to have finally snapped.
Last night, he went after Rudy Giuliani for not being “tough” enough to take on Hillary Clinton in the 2000 race for U.S. Senator from New York:
Rudy plays a tough guy now, on Twitter. But he didn’t have the guts to take on Hillary in 2000 for the New York Senate seat. When that race got tough, @RudyGiuliani got going. As bullies do when confronted by a stronger person. https://t.co/JWgKhuCDmE

Or as people do when confronted by … cancer.
Well he had cancer so….
— Oscar Buck Wilde (@dorn_bruce) April 22, 2019
… he also had cancer https://t.co/FhrfX5iTgc

Dude, he had cancer
— streiff (@streiffredstate) April 22, 2019
He had cancer, tough guy.
— Bill Wright (@BillWright14) April 22, 2019
Aren’t you nice. Ignore the fact that he had cancer…

Didn’t he have cancer at the time?
And I think we can safely put you in the Jennifer Rubin category of “conservatives.”
— Dan Tetreault (@dtetreault20) April 22, 2019
Or cancer? (It’s appropriate for you to delete your account now)
— Mark mazman (@MarkMazman) April 22, 2019
Having cancer can be a bit distracting Billy. Been there, done that so I speak with some experience on the subject.
— JimVT (@vt_jim) April 22, 2019
Whoa whoa whoa. I've never been a big fan of his. But he didn't run because he was diagnosed with cancer.
— (((JoshParkhurst))) (@JoshuaParkhurst) April 22, 2019
Um, didn’t Giuliani drop out of the 2000 race due to a cancer diagnosis? I hate Rudy as much as the next person, but this seems a tad heartless.
— Kay Brooks (@kaybrooks41) April 22, 2019
Just a tad.
When that race got tough, @RudyGiuliani got cancer, you imbecile.
There is no ratio like Bill Kristol ratio. https://t.co/iMSBemmdBx— Sheik Yerbouti (@YerboutiSheik) April 22, 2019
Well…he was diagnosed with prostate cancer during the race.
So this is not your best work. https://t.co/KXhP9p3Ytg

You don’t have to be a Rudy Giuliani fan to be able to appreciate that choosing to battle cancer instead of running for office has nothing to do with being a coward. Bill Kristol’s clearly not a Rudy Giuliani fan, but he’s apparently a huge fan of getting called out as a jackass.
He has no shame, but on the very, very off chance he deletes it:
Everybody’s clapping for you, Bill. Take a bow.
This is seriously bad
— Chris (@ChrisMears00) April 22, 2019
Hell of a hot take here, Bill
— Mike Showerrug (@MikeShowerrug) April 22, 2019
New day, new low.
Congrats little billy.— Collude with this! (@cheapoldbstd) April 22, 2019
He was fighting cancer….. You sound like a stand up guy. Calling someone weak for choosing to fight their battle with cancer instead of running for a political seat. I swear y'all expose yourself more and more everyday.

@BillKristol For those who keep insisting on decency and civility: https://t.co/Ir6qY3OxeH

Super decent high morality guy bill kristol dishing out Trumpian takes.
— Conspicuous Snek (@TheMule19) April 22, 2019
So I guess he should done what you wanted and ignored the cancer he was battling, huh? Good talk. Let's not do it again.
— Physics Geek (@physicsgeek) April 22, 2019
Oh, he’ll do it again. It’s only a matter of time.
@BillKristol this is beneath you.
— Will Manly (@willmanly) April 22, 2019
It used to be. Not anymore.
