'Shockingly dumb and dishonest': Blue-checked prog falsely paints Tucker Carlson's immigration monologue as 'white nationalist' [video]

Blue-checked “progressive activist” Jordan Uhl was triggered last night by Tucker Carlson’s opening segment on immigration. If you saw Tucker’s show and weren’t paying close attention, you probably didn’t realize that the whole thing was just a love letter to white nationalism. Thank goodness Uhl was watching, too:

Tucker Carlson just opened his show with a monologue on "assimilation" that's hard to describe as anything other than white nationalist pic.twitter.com/sje3YDYsxZ

Uhl’s got the transcript handy, just in case you didn’t pick up on the “white nationalist” stuff from the video:

OK, so, after watching the video and reading the transcript … turns out it’s actually possible to describe that segment as something other than “white nationalist.”

I didn’t get that at all

He’s actually right. If you do not assimilate immigrants into a country’s values and culture then what is the purpose of having something called a country? What does it stand for and what will it fight for?

— Jared Torres (@metalhead81jt) April 5, 2019

No. Hard for YOU to describe as anything other than white nationalist because that's the narrative you're pushing.

His rhetoric is no different than that of Obama who said immigrants should learn English and hold American values.

Jfc, bro, assimilation is the literal OPPOSITE of “white nationalism.”

Why on earth would any white racist WANT any immigrants or people of other races to actually blend in and assimilate with their culture?

Shockingly dumb and dishonest, my God https://t.co/UwdIVSME9H

It’s literally anything but white nationalist. He poses legit questions about immigration and talks about the past success of America’s ability to assimilate immigrants. He says nothing about the color of anyone’s skin. Being American is to assimilate into the melting pot. https://t.co/wEm9iMEzON

Assimilation is pro-immigrant. It turns immigrants, like me, into what they came here to be: Americans. I wrote about this last July: https://t.co/w5roC9uc47 https://t.co/BIeTw0lkor

What is wrong with assimilating? I am an immigrant as well as my children and we are proud and love this country so much for the opportunities it gave us that our country failed to offer us. We live here so we have to integrate, assimilate and adapt the way this country works !

— Czarizari (@Czari3234) April 5, 2019

I'm all for immigrants assimilating. That doesn't mean that they have to give up their culture, but on the contrary they gain a whole new one. It's not zero sum

Really? Someone who tries to explain “assimilation” is a white nationalist? I believe you mean he’s against the ideals of the Progressive Left, nothing more. You must surely be more intelligent than that, but perhaps not.

— Cam Dunn (@realCameronDunn) April 5, 2019

Seems safe to go with “not.”

Umm I don’t think you really know what white nationalism actually is. Sounds to me like you have the left talking points stuck in your head. Free thinking and asking your own questions will get you much further then spouting out old and tired and boring cliches
