It’s not enough that the UK government is going out of their way to kill Alfie Evans. The cops are also policing speech directed at the hospital where Evans is currently being starved to death:
We've issued a statement this evening to make people aware that social media posts which are being posted in relation to Alder Hey and the Alfie Evans situation are being monitored and may be acted upon. Read the full statement here: https://t.co/epopt5bhmY

Here’s that statement:
People freaking out about this tweet: they’re not saying they’re monitoring you objecting to the situation or the government’s treatment of the child or his parents. They’re saying they’re monitoring people who are threatening to storm the hospital, attack staff, etc. https://t.co/suSKt7il3P

Thing is that in the UK, “hate speech” is considered a crime. Like, an actual crime. Making threats against the hospital is one thing. But given the way things have been going in the U.K. lately, “malicious communications” would likely include anyone who has the gall to express anger over the sickening and downright inhumane way Alfie Evans and his family have been treated.
And that’s absolutely chilling.
I repeat my point from the other day: The UK's approach toward speech is beyond embarrassing. Thank God we live in a country that values and protects free speech (for now). https://t.co/HgXSFNKIns

Is this a for real statement from police?! What kind of dictatorship are you running there? This isn't a free western country! https://t.co/YNHxXj2aww

State-enforced murder of a disabled baby isn’t the problem here, it’s the uppity citizens daring to question the all-powerful all-knowing government.
Remember when the UK was a free country? https://t.co/stON9uwUqL

"We're going to let this baby die slowly of asphyxiation over his parents' protests and we will lock you up if you criticize our decision too harshly" is something straight out of a dystopian novel. What fresh hell is happening to the UK? https://t.co/yEkQKh1O8w

Not only will the police in the U.K. participate in the death of a baby — they’re enforcing the court ruling preventing Alfie Evans from being taken from Alder Hey hospital by his family — but now they’re also coming after any Brits who are pissed off about it on Twitter dot com. https://t.co/HxRMc7So6h

When your government is so screwed up and overbearing you have the police monitoring people who speak up for the life of the little boy that you condemned to death. https://t.co/NKTwrOrrdS

Pray for the U.K. Lord knows they need it.
So, about that whole “malicious communications” thing:
LOL I googled what the definition of "malicious communication" because it's mentioned in the facebook post. This doesn't sound worryingly overbroad or anything pic.twitter.com/Yne6e3q1CK
