For years now (Heck, DECADES) I have been debating pro-aborts on social media about abortion and the need for reasonable restrictions around the procedure. Now, if you've ever had a discussion with a pro-abort you know there is no such thing as a reasonable restriction as far as they're concerned as they openly push for abortion on-demand even up to and including birth. Now, there will be some who claim nobody is ok with abortion up to and including birth but they're liars - I see it all of the time. My then-governor Ralph 'Sucks More Than Any Governor Ever' Northam openly talked about leaving a baby who survived an abortion to die if that's what the mom chooses.
Awful, truly.
Welp, one of their main talking points, one of their big debate tactics is claiming that our maternity mortality rate is VERY HIGH and then they'll bring up the CDC to prove it because if we don't support abortion up to and including birth we're killing women or something.
Again, awful.
Welp, sounds like the CDC has been overestimating these numbers ...

I know you're shocked. They've made such a trustworthy agency up until now. Ahem.
Maternal mortality in US overestimated by CDC, new study shows https://t.co/Lt8MKmGPa0

From Fox News:
The number of maternal deaths previously reported by the CDC may be inaccurately rising, a study recently revealed.
Flawed or imperfect record-keeping could be the culprit for what seems to be a spiking rate of maternal deaths across the U.S.
Maternal death is defined as "the death of a woman while pregnant or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy, irrespective of the duration and the site of the pregnancy, from any cause related to or aggravated by the pregnancy or its management, but not from accidental or incidental causes," according to the World Health Organization.
OOPSIE.
They might as well have said, 'Our bad.'
Gotta twist the number to fit the narrative

The CDC never lies.
In fact
They're a pillar of integrity.
Indeed.
Almost as if their entire existence isn't public health by playing politics.
Ahem.
