If you'd told me 13 years ago that I'd still be reading tweets from Democrats pretending their skin color is the most important thing about them and that people should vote for and give them money because of it, I'd have had my doubts.
How naive I was back then.
And way firmer, but that's another story.
No, I guess I figured that either people would get bored of the AMERICA IS RACIST REEEE nonsense at some point OR that their supporters and voters would get bored of it.
But ... no.

I don't get it, you guys.
Case in point, this thread from Shasti Conrad. Now, I don't expect many of you to know who she is (or care) unless you're in Washington BUT she seems to think being the first Asian American woman to chair a major state party is a big deal.
Take a look:
👋🏽Hi! Shasti Conrad here. I’m the first Asian American woman to chair a major state party in the contiguous USA. I’m currently being attacked by the far-right in WA for championing Democratic values. Make their attacks backfire—chip in + support @washdems: https://t.co/YulH8At7vB

Ever notice anyone who disagrees with these thin-skinned people is 'far right'? Like the bogeyman!
I'm proud that Washington state law guarantees abortion access. But we still have work to do.

As of 2017, 59% of Washington counties had 0 clinics that provided abortion care. That's unacceptable.https://t.co/joISVR3Ei2
So there's a lot of this yammering on about how important it is to her to be able to slaughter the unborn and other annoying, predictable garbage Democrats like to spew. She even wants to put abortion in their state constitution.
GIRL POWER.
This did not go over well with ... anyone. But you know, she has to make it about the far-right
And, of course, the far-right will hate- and fear-monger. Just look at *some* of the hateful messages that have come my way since right-wing commentator @BrandiKruse posted a video about my tweet a few days ago. pic.twitter.com/gFYTkjlNEA

RIGHT-WING this and RIGHT-WING that.
Change the record, people.
She then goes on to rant and rave about Brandi Kruse (who FYI is anything but far-right) and then brings up her skin color again.
Anyway, as a brown woman in politics I’ve come to expect this sort of nonsense. But I don’t accept it.

If you’re sick and tired of this type of right-wing divisiveness, will you make a donation to @washdems today?https://t.co/YulH8At7vB
As a pink woman writing about politics, I honestly don't know how any woman of any color can stand this self-entitled, elitist crap. Also, it's hilarious how a Democrat who's an Asian American is 'brown', but a Republican Asian American is 'white.'
But I digress.
At this point, all I can figure is people who run using their skin color really don't have much else to run on - so why vote for them? I keep waiting for Democrats to figure this out, but maybe it's too late for them and they're already so far gone that there is no coming back.
Not sure how anyone can support such a racist, hate-filled agenda ... which is probably why I don't vote for Democrats REGARDLESS of what color they are.
