But if I type them out even behind a VIP paywall, I'll probably get in trouble so I'll try and keep them to myself. For now. As I get further down the page and I know only you amazing, wonderful, supportive, kick-butt VIP supporters can actually see what I'm saying I MIGHT write them out.
Just for you.
Until then, I have to share this insanity with you all.
This thread from 'Prof. Grace Lavery' who per 'her' bio is trans, happy, and lucky is THE hot dumpster of garbage to end all other hot dumpsters of garbage. Note, I am not including the first couple of tweets because I don't want to give the essays she's pushing (trying to sell) the light of day. Starting with the third tweet in this mess:
The gender critical movement is among the most influential and important philosophical of the moment, especially in the UK. Yet as far as I can see, no mainstream newspaper has published anything that engages seriously and critically with its claims. That must happen.
— Prof. Grace Lavery (@graceelavery) July 31, 2023
The movement has flattered a liberal fantasy of politics, by promoting the view that “women’s rights” and “trans rights” are conflictual. They are not, and in order to claim that they are, these authors have to throw the baby of feminism out with the bathwater of trans people.
— Prof. Grace Lavery (@graceelavery) July 31, 2023
Except, they are.
Unless Grace wants to admit rights are rights regardless of sex, but I'm willing to bet she really likes the idea of special rights for various identities - that's what the woke movement is all about. So they can all claim to be oppressed when their rights aren't as special as that other group's.
Men are not women.
Deal with it.
I am a transsexual, a trans woman; whatever one wants to call it. I am proud of the fact, grateful for the opportunity to transition, and motivated to secure civil rights for others like me. BUT I write here not as a trans woman, but as a feminist and scholar of feminism.
— Prof. Grace Lavery (@graceelavery) July 31, 2023
Scholar of feminism. You know she's a hoot at birthday parties.
Feminists should stand up against the gender critical perspective, whose *only* political goal is to tie women’s rights to an idealized biological norm. That is fascism. There is no other word for it. And the fact that the movement claims to speak as and for “women” is dangerous.
— Prof. Grace Lavery (@graceelavery) July 31, 2023
Annnd THERE it is.
Fascism.
You know what's really dangerous? A bunch of confused men who think if they put on makeup and a dress they are women trying to decide 'norms' for real women.
PS: My three words for people like Grace? EFF OUTTA HERE!
