Typically I don’t get to write as myself in the first-person as a Twitchy editor BUT since this interaction is about me … here I am. Doing it under VIP since it’s more of a personal piece (If you’re not a VIP Member, shame on you, what are you waiting for?! We have cookies and all sorts of really super cool stuff).
See, living in Virginia, I have had a front-row seat to the insanity that is Loudoun County, VA, where recently hundreds of parents showed up at a school board meeting to push back against CRT and any other indoctrinating ‘lessons’ they see fit to ‘teach’ their kids.
As many of you know, the school board ran like cowards and went so far as to shut down public comment because apparently singing the National Anthem is ‘violence.’
Juli Briskman is a member of the Board of Supervisors in Loudoun County (sort of like a City Council if you’re not from this area or unfamiliar). If her name is familiar to you it’s because she’s the ding-a-ling who flipped the Trump motorcade off because she’s super edgy like that.
And they elected her to their Board of Supervisors?

Yikes.
Welp, everything started here:
I join @LoudounDems, fully supporting the schools' adoption of Policy 8040 and condemning the hateful rhetoric and violence of the June 22 LCPSSB meeting. #LoudounForAll https://t.co/xDALcT21uy

Hateful rhetoric?
Violence?
WHAT?!?!
We’ve seen the video, Juli … there was no violence or hate. Unless of course someone like Juli can’t deal with opposing viewpoints and finds them ‘hateful,’ which is probably more the case. Me being my normal charming self, I pushed back.
All last summer we were told it was peaceful protest to set buildings on fire and destroy statues and public/private property … and now you want to call actual peaceful protest violence?

Please notice I was not overtly nasty, especially for me.
And this is what she came back with:
Hey Bunny Foo, were you there? If not, shut your pie hole. I was there. It was not a peaceful protest. They violated the Board’s rules of order multiple times, created fear & chaos. Some had to be removed in handcuffs. Our board members are getting death threats. #LoudounForAll https://t.co/gsikAkMAuv

Shut my pie hole.
REALLY?
THIS is an elected official?
Telling a Virginian to shut up … and she wonders why the parents in her community are so pissed off.
Sounds like Juli also helped build that hit list of parents. Classy, right?
You’ve forfeited the right to tell anyone to “shut (their) pie hole.”

Now, if her reaction was to tell someone who disagreed with her to ‘shut up,’ that tells me everything I need to know about how she treats those who elected her.
It ain’t good.
Hey Middle Finger. I was there and it was peaceful. There was no fear created. The school board made it clear they don’t care what parents & taxpayers want. Where’s your proof of death threats? I call major BS. You want #Loudoun for Marxists, not all. 🙄 @PolitiBunny

Maybe don’t put parents on literal hit lists and teach kids Marxist propaganda and you won’t piss off so many people. The board works for THEM, sweetie. They are not a defacto ruling party. Cowards called the cops because they couldn’t fathom people daring to challenge them.

But VIOLENCE!
RHETORIC!
When an elected body chooses to run away arbitrarily because they can’t handle the anger of their constituents then calls in the cops to arrest anyone who didn’t leave after that arbitrary decision it’s unjust to claim the natural reaction to that stupid choice is inappropriate

And yet the video shows you’re not exactly being truthful.

Maybe you should respect the peoples wishes
— Autonomaton (@FilthPigPDX) June 25, 2021
Scary when parents use their rights to tell off sanctimonious officials who work for them.
— Ginny (@ginkates) June 25, 2021
It was a peaceful protest. You lot are scared of constituents voicing their opinions, so you silence them. 🖕🏽🖕🏽

Gosh, sounds like people are sick and tired of being talked down to and lectured about their ‘privilege.’
We need SO MUCH MORE of this and then some in Virginia.
