Nothing says you’re taking the charges brought against you seriously like getting on your phone five minutes into the first day of your trial even when you’ve repeatedly been warned not to.
But this is Harvey Weinstein we’re talking about so …
Weinstein got a scolding from Judge Burke just 5 mins into the first day of trial for using his phone—despite repeated warnings not to.
“Mr. Weinstein…is this really the way that you want to land up in jail for the rest of your life…by texting and violating a court order?”

Yikes!
He truly believes himself to be above the law. He has got away with what he done for years including having it written into his contract he couldn't be sacked for sexual harrasement. His whole frail act is part of it as well. He isn't holed up at home, his life hasn't changed

His life has changed quite a bit.
He went from everyone in Hollywood kissing up to him to everyone in Hollywood spitting on him.
The point is…he hasn’t accepted that this is for real & forever.— Melissa Jo Peltier (@MelissaJPeltier) January 7, 2020
How the hell is he even allowed to have a phone in the courtroom???
— Never Worn (@Neverworn2) January 7, 2020
Fair question.
Of course he keeps doing it he’s getting away with it.

He would have already been there if he weren’t wealthy.

And protected by his wealthy friends in Hollywood.
Yup.
What kind of lawyer allows that to happen once, let alone repeatedly, with a client? Not an auspicious sign.

He can't help violating

The arrogance

He’s used to the rules only applying to OTHER people.
Silly.
