It’s Friday, so call us crazy, but we need to take a moment and make fun of Rep. Eric Swalwell’s mini-thread about how excited he is to trample the rights of legal gun owners in America.
It’s Friday, so call me crazy, but I can’t wait for next week. On Wednesday, our @HouseJudiciary Committee will have the first hearing on gun violence in 8 years. A new Congress is putting your right to be safe over any other rights. #EnoughIsEnough #HR8
— Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) February 1, 2019
There is no right to be safe so taking away a right to protect a right that doesn’t exist is probably the stupidest thing we’ve seen yet from ol’ Swalwell.
Well, except that whole nuking people thing.
For too long, an NRA-controlled Congress failed to pass common sense gun laws, instead allowing the most dangerous weapons to be in the hands of the most dangerous people. Predictably, thousands have died. & Congress would respond w/ moments of silence & zero moments of action.

Eric. Dude.
Those days are over. Your life matters. Your child’s freedom to learn without fear matters. Your ability to go to church without going through a metal detector matters. And young black men, who we lose every day in our cities to gun violence, matter. #EnoughIsEnough
— Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) February 1, 2019
You know the face you make when you read something really stupid and your brain isn’t quite sure how to process it so you read it again and it still doesn’t really make sense so you start thinking about something else like making a grocery list? Yeah, just made that face.
Twice.
You say my life matters, yet you are trying to take away my right to defend myself
— Yankee Jenn (@northcountryjen) February 1, 2019
All for common sense gun control, but taking away my ability to protect myself and my family from a threat is impractical.
Change the laws regarding the purchase of weapons, not the weapons on the market.— Tan (@LefnerT) February 1, 2019
@RepSwalwell I wont be sarcastic in this comment. Who will protect us if not ourselves? Cops have no duty to protect. So will there be a law saying if cops fail to provide protection they'll be sentenced to prison?
— Andy Robison (@arobidy) February 1, 2019
How's that working in Chicago?
— Matt Fonseca (@gdfathr33) February 1, 2019
Quiet you, we’re not supposed to talk about how the thousands and thousands of gun laws on the books already fail us … every day. Eric seems to think he can make murder more illegal than it already is. Double secret super illegal.
My life matters so leave my actual constitutionally protected rights alone. Made up crap by bitter little activists might sound sensational but it doesn’t supersede things actually written in the document that you took an oath to protect. Be a man not a douche.

Be a man, not a douche.
Ouch.
You are a child

Also, we have nukes, so don’t bother resisting.
— George Lee (@avocat0) February 1, 2019
Are you gonna threaten NRA members with nukes?
— Count Mo (@DrMosesAB) February 1, 2019
I don't have children. I don't go to church (atheist). I do own guns though and your actions impinge directly on my rights. And that is why I will oppose the Democrats and you.
— Alison Poole ?????️?⚖️ (@RealAlisonPoole) February 1, 2019
Simple.
Again, have to question your level of intelligence. The areas in our country with the high gun related crimes….. have strict laws governing use & possessions of firearms. The issue is not the “Gun”. It’s the criminal, mentality challenged, the judges & incarcerations limits.
— rsrnFL (@RsrnF) February 1, 2019
Democrats support infanctide, but yeah, the NRA is the real problem. Go play with your nukes.
— Legal Sense (@sense_legal) February 1, 2019
Don’t encourage him.
