Last night news broke that Anthony Rapp alleged Kevin Spacey made unwanted sexual advances towards him when he was 14. Spacey’s response was less than impressive:

He took this opportunity to ‘come out’? For REAL?
Gabriel Malor, an outspoken gay Conservative, and writer for The Federalist and other publications took issue with Spacey’s oddly timed ‘coming out’ and with the media’s bizarre coverage of the events:
Kevin Spacey just came out because Anthony Rapp accused him of unwanted contact thirty-one years ago.
— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) October 30, 2017
I am not okay with that.

Guys, "I was drunk" is not an excuse for unwanted sexual contact. It REALLY isn't for unwanted sexual contact with a minor.
— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) October 30, 2017
They might as well have said Rapp’s skirt was too short.
And the combination employed here is even worse. "I was drunk, and, oh, I'm gay too." WHAT THE FUCK
— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) October 30, 2017
That. ^
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'VE DECIDED TO COME OUT. You tried to get it on with a fourteen year-old.
— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) October 30, 2017
Also, "maybe I came on to a 14 year-old when I was drunk" at age 26 is…a problem. What were the next 31 years like?
— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) October 30, 2017
You're telling me that in the time between Buzzfeed approaching him for comment and now, Spacey has just had this great awakening. Bullshit. pic.twitter.com/BWKOSgyqMX

Maybe he’ll just fight the NRA.
Hey, way to be a stereotype for the gay predator, @KevinSpacey. Really helping.
— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) October 30, 2017
Exactly.
Then the headlines started to hit …
JUST IN: Kevin Spacey comes out as gay in apology statement to Anthony Rapp. https://t.co/vWXYGgXcB6

Whaaaaaa?
And so it begins. Shame on you @thedailybeast, THAT ISN'T THE STORY HERE. https://t.co/GRf3yKCVR3

Not. The. Story.
Kevin Spacey apologizes for drunkenly trying to seduce a 14-year-old boy

Media’s reporting goes something like this: ‘Oopsie, Kevin Spacey got drunk and tried to molest a 14-year-old but HEY GUYS, he’s gay! How brave of him to come out of the closet after all of these years.’
Just repugnant.
