Every once in awhile a tweet crosses your timeline that causes you to pause, reload and look again because it was just that stupid.
For example, this tweet from the Cato Institute on terror:
Far right extremist groups were responsible for 73% of deadly terrorist incidents since September 12, 2001. https://t.co/eppnxd5kM8 pic.twitter.com/WcvxJWX3vF
— Cato Institute (@CatoInstitute) April 23, 2017
Funny how they picked the day after the BIGGEST terror attack on American soil, ever.
Not funny ha ha but funny convenient.

If you read the article (and we’re sorry if you click it) the entire piece is based on research via Georgia State that cites CNN.com as a news reference so there’s that …
Nidal Hasan, Tsarnaev Bros, Alton Nolen, Omar Mateen, Syed Farook, Tashfeen Malik, Ismaayil Brinsley, Abdulhakim Muhammad…but point taken

You can tell they are far right rather than far left because they left their shirts on. https://t.co/gnKMVEEkjv
— Federalist Musket?? (@Patriot_Musket) April 24, 2017
Apparently far right extremist groups are responsible, not ISIS who has taken credit for every terrorist act in the last several years.
It’s a ridiculous claim Brian (a) only US, globally everything pales compared to Islamism (b) Counts incidents not deaths (c) Why since 911?
— Zeev Suraski (@zeevs) April 23, 2017
Bingo.
They can’t include 9/11 because that negates their stupid argument.
Weird how @CatoInstitute unquestioningly repeats only 23 dead from radical Islam when that's less than half of the dead at the #Pulse attack https://t.co/68RKwtAenc
— Derek Hunter (@derekahunter) April 24, 2017
Remember though, they said it was a homophobic thing, not a terror attack.
The data shows Jihadists have killed more Americans since 9/11 than RW, but this is how @CatoInstitute presents it ? https://t.co/uyed1R7z93

Ri-damn-diculous.
They cast a wide net for the right wing extremist definition and STILL Islamists killed more people (even after 9/11)

But CNN! TRUMP! MUSLIM BAN!
Lousy methodology, cherry picked starting point. Apologize for this travesty.

They should, but they won’t.

If they include 9/11 they don’t really have a story.
Although most thinking people likely don’t think is a story anyway.

Nope. Can’t trust ’em.
Like most things under the Obama administration.
