PAINFUL. WATCH Alec Baldwin try and play Trump on this week's SNL; 2 thumbs down [video]

Saturday Night Live was “interesting” last week, with McKinnon’s somber opening and Dave Chappelle’s seemingly heartfelt monologue but it’s apparent the late-night variety show is struggling with how to be funny when they’re so obviously not feeling funny.

Which is pretty entertaining to the rest of us but they don’t quite get why that is.

This week’s SNL was no exception:

It feels uncomfortable and angry, right? Baldwin’s portrayal of Trump is bitter and borderline just mean.

You have to wonder if SNL forgets they have viewers in other parts of the country than New York.

Perhaps they should just stick with Dave Chappelle?
