So we’re not in a religious war with Islam … no no. Mean people are using old words and exploiting sad and lonely people to hurt us in the name of Allah.

It seems some people had a hard time making sense out of Shep’s word salad in the first place. And if you listen to his speech it certainly sounds like he’s not entirely sure what he’s saying. Or is he? It would almost be better for him to go the “whoops, I didn’t mean it like that” route.
