We don’t know how someone goes from being the top adviser for Bush-Cheney to tweeting something like what we’re about to show you, but Mr. Matthew Dowd has done it.
When a party has no economic plan, you launch culture war. When a party has no healthcare plan, you launch culture war. When your party can’t win in a multicultural democracy, you attack voting rights/democracy. When your party has no moral compass, you elevate corrupt people.

We aren’t sure how or why so many people who used to be considered conservative are now parroting the Left’s talking points, but here we are, watching it happen. It feels like we’re watching Anakin fall to the dark side over and over again.
Wait wait, WHO started the culture war?
Republicans? How does work?
All I see is republicans reacting to the cultural excesses of the left.
Why do you guys get to do whatever you want, push all boundaries…. But when conservatives push back, that’s them starting it? How?

Sadly, if we’re being honest, while it may be to a lesser degree, Republicans do this too.
Not one of those is accurate: When your economic plan fails, you push your culture war farther and faster. When economy is good, these thing mostly take care of themselves. There is no war on the gay, trans or minority community. They are being used as a distraction.

These are all valid points and things we have been saying for years. Now the question is, what are they trying to distract us from?
Matthew may be off base, but one thing is accurate, we can blame Democrats or Republicans for the mess this county is in right now, but the truth is, we, the American people, fell asleep at the switch.
The establishment of both parties wants us divided and fighting. If they can keep us focused on the small stuff and fighting about that, they can continue to do whatever they want with the big stuff, and we will be too distracted to stop them.
