Chalk Up Another Massive L for Newsom: TMZ Reports That Paramount Is Ditching California

When Governor Gavin Newsom isn't literally setting his state on fire, it's good to know that he's still doing so figuratively. 

Today, TMZ has reported that Paramount, after extended legal battles and being vilified by California's leftist elites, is finally saying sayonara to the Golden State.

According to TMZ, the announcement was supposed to be made yesterday, but it was delayed. However, both the Los Angeles Mayor's office and the state AG's office confirmed that the decision to leave has been made. It comes after months of negotiations with California's AG Rob Bonta, who is trying to block the Warner Brothers merger. 

David Ellison, the CEO of Paramount, has threatened to move the studio to Texas, Tennessee or Georgia if the Cali A.G. didn't back off and settle.

Ellison threatened to leave California if a settlement wasn't reached by October 1st. Based on conversations in both the Mayor's and Attorney General's offices ... it sounds like no deal is possible.

If Paramount pulls the trigger, it will be a devastating 1-2 punch for Hollywood. "American Idol" is leaving Hollywood for Atlanta. Many other productions have also left Hollywood over the last few years. Fact is ... if Hollywood isn't dead, it's dying.

Paramount did not respond to TMZ's request for comment, but Deadline confirmed the reporting that the announcement of the departure is imminent.

And no one is even pretending to be shocked.

The corruption in LA and California is not limited to Bonta and goes much higher and deeper than his office. 

It's not surprising that many businesses have decided enough is enough. 

As TMZ noted, however, this will be a gigantic blow to the state's economy. 

We can't wait to see how Newsom's "Press Office" account tries to spin this one. For the moment, Izzy Gardon seems busy trying to blame the state's $8 gas prices on Trump and also celebrating the governor banning AI toys.

LOL. 

It's good to know that Newsom has his priorities straight — appeasing and bending over to China being at the top of that list. 

And all to appease vile antisemites like Mark Ruffalo. 

Newsom can put this one on his long list of accomplishments, right up there with refusing to prepare for or fight wildfires, wasting hundreds of millions of dollars on a bridge for butterflies, and enabling the sex trafficking of minors.

Newsom needs another poop map, one that can chart all of the damage his policies have done to the state and the rapidly decreasing number of Americans who still live there.

It can only be a matter of time before Newsom tries to impose exit taxes to force businesses and residents to stay put. 

Newsom doesn't care. Neither do Bass or Bonta. Neither do the leftist elites in Hollywood. 

Only their TDS matters to them.

At this rate, it won't be long before California is that smoking pile of ash.

We mostly mean this metaphorically but, as we noted above, in Newsom's case, he might just do it literally as well.
