Kathy Hochul Ditches Ground Zero Ceremony for Pow-Wow With CNN and Wolf Blitzer

It's not enough for Democrats to be intent on destroying this country. It is important to them that they insult Americans while they're doing it. In the last administration, (alleged) President Joe Biden didn't just botch the Afghanistan withdrawal, resulting in the deaths of 13 American service members. He also infamously ignored the Gold Star families and actually checked his watch while attending the dignified transfer of the fallen.

More recently, New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani ignored the pleas of the families of 9/11 victims, who begged him not to attend today's 25th anniversary ceremonies. And when he did show up today, he deliberately disrespected the victims and the event, first trying to make it all about himself, then by giggling with AOC as the names of the victims were being read.

It's almost as if the cruelty is the point.

Not to be outdone, New York Governor Kathy Hochul also had to disgrace the memorials at Ground Zero. She attended for the photo op, of course, but as those victims' names were being read, she suddenly remembered that she had better things to do.

In her case, that meant a CNN interview with Wolf Blitzer

The New York Post had more:

Hochul, who is seeking re-election this year, left the solemn annual memorial event at the Ground Zero reflecting pool just before 11 a.m. as family members of the victims were still reading the names of the 2,977 people killed on Sept. 11, 2001, along with the six slain in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

She couldn't have chatted with Blitzer after the readings had concluded?

Just like AOC and Mamdani

The families were probably happy to have her gone, given how she has bent the knee to the radical Islamists in her party.

“I want to thank all the dignitaries that are here and families that stayed until the end, because everyone one of these names matter,” Michael Massaroli, who read the final names at the ceremony, said.

We're not sure if this was an intentional dig at the absent Hochul, but we hope it was.

They will spit in the eyes of the families while running to any microphone they can find to whine about "Islamophobia."

As the Post noted, Hochul is up for election this year. But she has no problem insulting all New Yorkers because she thinks she has it in the bag already.

We can only hope Republican Bruce Blakeman — and more importantly, the voters — prove her wrong.

We don't have high hopes for Blakeman's chances, but if he can remind REAL New Yorkers who Hochul is, which she proved again today, he might have an outside shot.

They can't, and they don't want to.

Former New York Representative and Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin, who we briefly quoted above, offered some final thoughts about Hochul's ignoble exit today.

Yes, the point is to rub our noses in it.

But in Hochul's case, it's also clear that she doesn't care at all about the people she is supposed to represent.

Maybe the people of New York can return the sentiment in November.
