FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson WRECKS the Washington Post for Blatant Hit Job on Katie Miller

Journalism meme

Katie Miller might have a good libel lawsuit she can file after the latest hit piece on her from The Washington Post.

We know that the Left despises Miller, wife of Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and former DOGE Communications Director. They come at her with some really vile attacks, including harassing her family at their home and forcing the Millers to move. The problem they have is that Miller gives 10 times better than she gets. Just ask Tom Nichols and Shri Thanedar, to name a few out of so many.

But if they can't harass her into silence, they'll just try to make up a story that she broke the law. This morning, The Washington Post and Cat Zakrzewski published a smear job claiming that Miller is violating FTC law and guidelines by not disclosing that she is a SpaceXAI (formerly xAI) stakeholder in every tweet she posts that is critical of other generative AI companies.

The claim that Zakrzewski is making is that Miller is obligated to make this disclosure.

The Federal Trade Commission has guidelines regulating influencers’ posts promoting and endorsing companies and products on social media. Multiple legal experts told The Post that under those rules, Miller would be required to disclose her stock in xAI when promoting it on social media.

Uh-oh. The "legal experts" have pronounced her guilty. (It will come as no surprise that the only named "expert" is a leftist professor at Harvard Law School.)

The only problem with this conclusion is that Miller has not, in fact, broken any laws or guidelines.

We can be pretty sure of that because none other than FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson commented on the article.

And when we say "commented," what we mean is that he BLISTERED the Post and the story, not only calling it out for multiple errors and lies, but exposing Zakrzewski as an activist in reporter clothing.

The so-called reporter behind this piece, Cat Zakrzewski, gave my office just 45 minutes to respond to her inquiry. When we asked why we were given so little time, she said, and I’m not kidding, President Trump’s administration is not entitled to basic journalistic standards. Despicable stuff that’s only tolerated in “journalism.”

Wow.

Read that last sentence again. And then again.

When we say you don't hate the media enough — you REALLY don't hate the media enough.

That's assuming that Zakrzewski had any basic standards to begin with.

Frankly, that is assuming way too much.

Or, you know, just raze it to the ground.

And salt the earth above it.

Doubly so when they have no idea what they are talking about.

Which is only about 99.8 percent of the time.

They'll all pat her on the back at the next WHCA Correspondents' nerd prom.

Even though she couldn't be bothered even to quote Miller accurately in the story.

Misquoting must be the kind of thing you do when you believe the subject of your article is "not entitled to basic journalistic standards."

There's also the fact that SpaceXAI is a private, not publicly traded company, and the fact that Miller has made multiple public financial disclosures regarding her income and investment in the company.

But who cares about any of that when you're a journo with a grudge to push?

Honestly?

That should be the new masthead on The Washington Post.
