Muse release new single 'Survival,' the official anthem of the 2012 London Olympic Games

The alternative rock band Muse has gained a reputation throughout the years for their epic, sprawling rock anthems with an arena feel. They’re one of the world’s most popular bands, they’ve garnered awards from every ceremony you could possibly name and now they’re representing the world and the 2012 London Olympics.

Getting the official song for the Olympics is quite an achievement, and it comes for a band that might have thought there weren’t many achievements left for it to dominate.

The song itself, titled “Survival,” is exactly what you’d expect from a Muse song; it’s big, loud and has that grandiose style that fits right in to a storyline of athletes competing all of their lives for this one event.

Fans from around the world have been voraciously tweeting about it since it was released:

The song is causing Muse madness and excitement is building for their sixth studio album, “2nd Law,” which will be released in the fall of this year.

Don’t just take everyone else’s word for it. Listen to the track for yourself!
