Sherri Shepherd, a co-host of ABC’s “The View,” received a nasty tweet advocating that she be raped. She didn’t take the threat lightly — and let her Twitter followers know that she was filing a police report. She’s right about bullies. If there are no consequences, it’s simply a recipe for more bullying. And as Twitchy has been reporting, such sexism and online harassment have gotten way, way out of control.
Just talked to the police about @DaCloneKiller …the laws should be changed for folks that bully – no consequences & the bullying continues

I'm tired of folk thinking they can hide behind a celeb Avi & type anything they want to you w/o consequences b/c they can't be seen COWARDS

This type of bullying is one of the reasons children are killing themselves b/c there's no consequences for the bully(s).

Just returned from filing a police report for this online harrassment nonsense. I will be pursuing this legally.

The police said @Twitter has to be subpoenaed for release of @DaCloneKiller's information. I will be pursuing this #cowardshidebehindavis

Perhaps Shepherd can convince her colleagues to put a spotlight on social-media abusers. It’s becoming a hot topic on Capitol Hill, you know.
