Climate change activists vandalize Van Gogh painting with can of soup to save the planet

A new trend among attention-starved climate change activists is to deface famous works of art, or glue themselves to them. In this case, it looks like both things happened.

As you’ll see in the video below, two activists threw a can of soup onto the Vincent Van Gogh painting ‘Sunflowers’ and then began smearing their hands with something, presumably glue.

Apparently, vandalizing great works of art will save the planet.

Or something.

Lovely.

CBS News has details:

Eco-activists throw soup on Vincent van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” painting in London

Environmental protesters on Friday threw tomato soup over Vincent van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” painting at the National Gallery in central London, videos posted on social media showed.

Just Stop Oil said in a statement that two protesters threw two cans of Heinz Tomato soup over the painting at 11:00 a.m. (6 a.m. Eastern) to demand that the U.K. government halt all new oil and gas projects…

London’s Metropolitan Police said officers arrested the two protesters for criminal damage and aggravated trespass after they “threw a substance over a painting” at the gallery on London’s Trafalgar Square.

Their parents must be so proud of them.

People have thoughts about all of this.

At least they were arrested.

This is a good point…

Fact check: True.

What is wrong with these people?
