Waah! Guess what Chuck Todd considers trolling: Taking him to task for his own shoddy reporting. No, for serious: Take a look at his douche-whine from Monday.
I know folks are relishing an opportunity to get out their hatred for media; I'm just trying to provide context for what we got wrong
— Chuck Todd (@chucktodd) September 16, 2013
What? As Twitchy reported, media, including Chuck Todd of NBC, initially erroneously named the dead alleged Navy Yard shooter as Rollie Chance. NBC and CBS were forced to retract after falsely identifying an innocent man as the alleged shooter.
To Todd? Facts, smacts! It’s really your fault for being so meany pants.

Todd continued attempting to excuse the egregious error on Twitter:
@voiceofD thanks for noticing that; Best we can do in this media environment.

@stevejfox @anamariecox we were second and wrong

More on the I.D. confusion of gunman, @PeteWilliamsNBC reporting I.D. found near dead gunman was badge gunman may have used to get into bldg
— Chuck Todd (@chucktodd) September 16, 2013
The confusion over the shooter name had to do with an I.D. card found near dead gunman; What led to bad initial reporting.

Your “hatred” and the fault of law enforcement!

Pro Journalists: "Bloggers aren't real journalists! They don't delete tweets with defamatory crap info like @chucktodd does"

Rumblin, stumblin, bumblin RT @chucktodd: NBC News: we are now NOT reporting name of shooter; retracting that report. deleting those tweets

"real journos", Rep Schumer? @NolteNC I have seen both CBS and NBC (Chuck Todd) reporters incorrectly name Rollie Chance as the dead shooter
— David Steinberg (@realDSteinberg) September 16, 2013
Chuck Todd libelled a serving Navy lieutenant yesterday and will probably keep his job .Make @NBC know this is not tolerable.
— Ian Boudreau (@iboudreau) September 17, 2013
The grievous error Chuck Todd made yesterday racing to the story would have gotten any media intern blackballed from the industry.
— Ian Boudreau (@iboudreau) September 17, 2013
.@NBC Given his demonstrated lack of judgement, EVERYTHING @chucktodd says now is suspect. Fire him.
— Ian Boudreau (@iboudreau) September 17, 2013
I'm really sorry if the repetition is annoying. But what Chuck Todd did yesterday lights a fire under my ass.
— Ian Boudreau (@iboudreau) September 17, 2013
He’s not alone.
Hasn't stopped @msnbc! RT @chucktodd: Still no known motive for the shooter; Lack of answer on this frustrating for investigators, obviously
— Derek Hunter (@derekahunter) September 16, 2013
@chucktodd So now we delete tweets ID'ing innocent people rather than apologizing for crappy reporting? Par for NBC.
— The Real Matt Finn (@mdrache) September 16, 2013
White House shooter identified by @chucktodd as Milton S Jones of Peoria. Oh, wait, that was just a random Chile's receipt Chuck found.
— The Real Matt Finn (@mdrache) September 16, 2013
Meanwhile, @chucktodd furiously deletes tweet about Ed Henry firing Howitzer at the West Wing. Finds new imaginary story.

No @chucktodd What "led to bad initial reporting" is reckless disregard for fact checking.

@chucktodd You are hated b/c — you are incompetent; you are partisan hacks rather than journalists; you edit the news to fit your politics.

As a bonus funny, Media Matters’ Oliver Willis joined in the task-taking with a hilariously self-unaware tweet:

Oh honey.
And Jammie Wearing Fool brings it all home with some words of consolation:
