Unreal: WH justifies drone strikes on citizens, but not waterboarding; Tries to distance itself from Dept. of Justice it runs

Wait, what? A recently discovered confidential Department of Justice memo revealed that the Obama administration has a pretty lenient policy on when drone strikes can be launched.

The government does not need evidence that a specific attack is imminent, the newly disclosed Justice Department white paper says, only that the targeted suspect is involved in ongoing plotting against the United States.

“The threat posed by al-Qaida and its associated forces demands a broader concept of imminence in judging when a person continually planning terror attacks presents an imminent threat,” the document says.

But, hey, out of their hands? There’s more, too. The White House also defended the use of drone strikes to kill citizens, but not the use of waterboarding.
