“Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane announced the Oscar nominations this morning with actress Emma Stone.
I'll be announcing the Oscar nominees on Jan. 10 at 5 a.m. with Emma Stone. We'll also be revealing the name of Kanye & Kim's baby (Zeus).

Guy in suit on CNN: Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone were "refreshing"
— Dashiell Bennett (@dashbot) January 10, 2013
Ah, yes! Hitler “jokes” are so refreshing … when the comedian is an Obama cheerleader!
That’s right; MacFarlane dropped a Hitler line this morning, and the lame joke totally fell flat for many.
“The last time Austria and Germany coproduced something was Hitler so this is much better.” -Seth MacFarlane on nomination of Amour

I can't wait to watch Seth MacFarlane give more Hitler jokes at the #oscars
— Chloe Tejada (@ChloeTheTejada) January 10, 2013
I'm sorry, Hitler joke? At #Oscar nominations? Really?

If there was an Academy Award for "stupidest use of lazy Hitler joke," Seth MacFarlane would be on track to win it.

Some were tickled pink by the uber-lame Hitler joke. Weird. We wonder if they were outrageously outraged by Drudge’s headline photo yesterday?
“@Here_is_Sam: Only Seth MacFarlane gets away with a Hitler joke #Oscars”
And Sacha Baron Cohen

I reckon Seth MacFarlane is gonna be a brilliant Oscars host going on that nominations show. He even managed to through a Hitler joke in!
— Josh Irwin (@joshirwin) January 10, 2013
Gotta salute @KristaSmith on the essence of the evil genius of @SethMacFarlane: "he was able to make a Hitler joke at 5:30 in the morning"
— jon hafter (@bigsounds) January 10, 2013
Always room for a Hitler joke by @SethMacFarlane at the Oscar nominations.
— turnerm (@turnerm) January 10, 2013
Others were not so amused, and panned MacFarlane’s entire performance.
"We're trying to walk a line" – #Oscars host/nominee @SethMacFarlane, who *did* drop a Hitler joke before 6 am

When do we as a nation get over our idea that Seth Macfarlane is brilliant?
— michele (@inthefade) January 10, 2013
Seth MacFarlane is doing a really good impression of a "Please, take my wife" lounge lizard comedy act. Or, that Bill Murray SNL character.
— Alexander Huls (@alxhuls) January 10, 2013
Seth MacFarlane doesn't make a living trying to be funny, does he?
— Richard Lawson (@rilaws) January 10, 2013
MacFarlane is hosting the Oscars as well.
It seems snark will rein over the Oscars with Seth MacFarlane as host if that nominations presser is any indication. Hitler jokes? Really?
— Janine Schaults (@jschau2) January 10, 2013
The fact Seth MacFarlane made a Hitler joke during the #OscarNoms gives an interesting preview as to how the Oscars is going to go.
