Remarkable, indeed. It has been all Akin, all the time since yesterday afternoon and it shows no sign of stopping today. First, rumors started swirling that Akin would drop out of the Missouri Senate race. But, wait! He then went on Sean Hannity’s radio program. Hannity tried to push Akin into dropping out.
You know things are bad for Akin when even Hannity is telling him to drop.

Akin refused. Sort of.
Right now on radio, @seanhannity politely telling Akin that he has put MO in jeopardy. Akin is not listening. #intervention

Akin to Hannity just now: "im announcing today that we're going to stay in"
— Libby Leist (@libbyleist) August 20, 2012
Twitter users recap the exchange.
"For the next wk, all you're going to hear is your comments." – @seanhannity to Akin. Akin's handed ammo to Left "to hurt everybody."
— Michelle Malkin (@michellemalkin) August 20, 2012
Hannity asks Akin if he's thought of consequences of dragging down nat'l ticket/losing MO, says he has.

Akin tells Hannity that he once read a "medical report" that it's harder for woman to get pregnant when raped. Said he doesn't believe it

Hannity is giving Akin a very hard time.

Todd Akin: "I'm announcing today that we're going to stay in" Hannity: "Before we get to that…"
— Steven Dennis (@StevenTDennis) August 20, 2012
Akin on Hannity: "I had heard from medical reports..that there is a reaction..there was a medical report..I don't believe that now"
— Mark Halperin (@MarkHalperin) August 20, 2012
At the start, Akin said he was announcing that he is staying in. As the interview wrapped up, however, he left an “out.”
Recap of Akin on Hannity: For most of interview says he's staying in – but very last q says will take a "good look" at what party is saying
— Libby Leist (@libbyleist) August 20, 2012
RT @philipaklein: Akin, responding to Hannity's reasons for dropping out: "All of those things have to be taken a look at."
— Guy Benson (@guypbenson) August 20, 2012
Screw the party…the country is at risk RT: @philipaklein: Hannity telling Akin him staying in race could be harmful to whole party.
— Drew McCoy (@_Drew_McCoy_) August 20, 2012
Ok, the guy is a mess. He just needs a night to accept this. RT: @JohnEkdahl: Wow. Akin tells Hannity he will still consider dropping out.
— Drew McCoy (@_Drew_McCoy_) August 20, 2012
As Twitchy has reported, other Republicans have called for Akin to quit the race.
Akin has lost the NRSC, Crossroads, Coulter, Hannity, National Review, multiple U.S. Senators, GOP prez nominee, and many activists.
— Sunny McSunnyface (@sunnyright) August 20, 2012
However, not everyone is on board with that.
Hannity lectures media, than joins up w rest of GOP estab to try to shame Akin into quitting.
— Jonathan Martin (@jmartNYT) August 20, 2012
I think Sean Hannity should be ashamed of himself for trying to brow beat Todd Akin to leave the race for Senate. You have no guts Sean!

Will he or won’t he? Stay tuned to Twitchy! In the meantime, this Twitter user sums up the media’s part in the whole mess.
The President lied several times today, so naturally MSM is obsessed with the words of a guy most Americans have never heard of before.
— Derek Hunter (@derekahunter) August 20, 2012
Ironically, he lied during a surprise appearance at the White House press briefing. See, he can totally chatter with the press … if it suits him and he can crow over Akin. Funny, but they don’t seem to be reporting on the outlandish lies he spewed during his patronizing few minutes with them.
Whether you want Akin to drop out or not, it’s clear that the press will do its best to keep this going, non-stop. It helps The One, you see.
