Apparently there isn’t a scientific consensus about whether additional funding would have produced an Ebola vaccine by now. “Science is unpredictable” after all. (This is why we know with utmost certainty that humans are changing the climate and this will lead to disastrous results unless we raise taxes and destroy certain industries.)
@samsteinhp there might have been. Different than there would have been. Good to avoid certainty.

“Probably would have been” is also very different than “might have been.”
@samsteinhp you should interview Fauci and Collins at the same time
— Greg Pollowitz (@GPollowitz) October 19, 2014
@DemFromCT yep. and Collins was not speaking in certainties with me either. said it was probable (as opposed to assured)
— Sam Stein (@samstein) October 19, 2014
@samsteinhp Of course if they had the money we might have had an Ebola vaccine, and with out the money we definitely do not have a vaccine.
— Joseph Mercurio (@Natpol) October 19, 2014
@samsteinhp I can predict that if no one working on it there won't be a cure & if there's no $$ there probably won't be anyone working on it
— D. R. Dick (@granitevoter) October 19, 2014
@samsteinhp We can say w certainty, however, that not funding science is a safe way to ensure no vaccine.
— Bon Rurgandy (@leigh_justin) October 19, 2014
We can also say funding used for studying fat lesbians might be wisely spent elsewhere. Poorly prioritized funding is not the same as insufficient funding. Sunday-night bombshell: NIH director claims budget cuts have prevented an Ebola vaccine; Conservatives spotlight budget waste
@samsteinhp In some ways. If Ebola had originally emerged in Europe or the US, there would be medications or vaccines by now.
— Stanley Bonk (@StanleyBonk) October 19, 2014
Because racism or something.
@samsteinhp @jbarro GOP obstruction and underfunding predictably will drown government in a bathtub. Only uncertainly is how many drown too!
— #??????????? (@RandyResist) October 19, 2014
Obviously. Liars! The WaPost gives Dems ‘4 Pinocchios’ for saying the GOP cut Ebola funding
