Former Obama henchman senior economics adviser Austan Goolsbee is back in the news over comments he made about the Koch brothers’ tax details. The Washington Free Beacon reports on a key legal ruling which prevents the Obama administration from continuing to block an investigation into whether the White House gained unauthorized access to Koch tax information.
Former White House Council of Economic Advisers chairman Austan Goolsbee sparked a mini-scandal in 2010 when he told reporters during a background press briefing that Koch Industries—the company of libertarian philanthropists Charles and David Koch—paid no income taxes.
Conservative lawmakers and activists said Goolsbee’s statements not only unfairly singled out the president’s political opponents but also used confidential IRS documents to do so.
Goolsbee got called out tonight on Twitter over his involvement in the scandal. He had some excuses but came up short on delivering any real answers.

Recall that IRS admitted leaking private tax info to outside reporters. Leaking to the WH? Let's see the TIGTA report.

The IRS also agreed to pay a $50k fine for disclosing info of a traditional marriage group. http://t.co/shElgKEXKN

So the idea that the IRS leaked info on the Koch brothers, not that hard to fathom.
— John Sexton (@verumserum) October 6, 2014
Basically the IRS claim is: yeah we leaked info on conservatives two other times but not about the Koch brothers.

It’s funny how that works. It’s almost as if they do it intentionally to mislead people.
